Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions

  1. These Terms and Conditions apply to Perform For Life (herewith referred to as PFL) lessons delivered to students, applied for and consented to by the parent or guardian. Changes to these Terms and Conditions require the written consent of Perform For Life. PFL reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions at anytime and without notice.
  2. All Parents/Guardians must complete a registration form prior to a Student participating in PFL lessons.
  3. An application will only be deemed to have been accepted if accompanied by the payment/confirmation of transfer of the required deposit, and if signed by the Student’s Parent/Guardian.
  4. The signed application establishes a contract between PFL and the Student and Parent/Guardian, on the understanding that the Parent/Guardian agrees to these terms and conditions.
  5. Written confirmation by PFL will then be given, confirming receipt of application, deposit/fees paid, termly fees, methods of payment, relevant course details and Student’s place.
  6. Any free trial (taster lesson) is strictly at the approval of the Director, subject to availability and does not guarantee a place at PFL. A free trial may not be claimed in retrospect, and is not applicable during a Holiday Workshop.
  7. Fees are to be paid in full prior to the start of each term unless other arrangements have been agreed with the Director/Tutor. Methods of payment: Direct Transfer to PFL bank account or Cash (only at the venue, accompanied by a signed note from the Parent/Guardian – please do not post cash payments).
  8. Once the fees are received in full, a refund for cancellation of lessons or non-attendance cannot be given.
  9. Failure to pay termly fees when due enables PFL to reserve the right to ask the Student to not attend until termly fees are received and brought up to date. Late fees may incur a £5.00 admin fee.
  10. The contract automatically continues for the consecutive term unless it is terminated before the end. Notice for termination must be given by a Parent/Guardian in writing, no later than half-term of any term to take affect at the end of that term. Failure by the Parent/Guardian to give such notice will render the Parent/Guardian liable for the fees for a further term. Any outstanding fees will be payable.
  11. Fees are reviewed annually in September.
  12. Lessons take place once a week during term time. Lesson dates and times are given to all Students in writing before they begin. Any absenteeism is required to be notified prior to the Student being absent from the lesson.
  13. If the Student fails to attend a lesson/s, the missed lesson’s fees are not refundable, unless the circumstances (in the opinion of the Director) warrant a special concession.
  14. A lesson may be cancelled by the Director/Tutor at anytime, but in such an event, the appropriate fee shall be refunded, or the lesson time made up.
  15. Should it be necessary to cancel lessons on account of extreme weather conditions (snow, ice, flood, gale force winds etc.), epidemic or national crisis, or any circumstances over which PFL have no control, fees cannot be returned or compensation made.
  16. In the event of a lesson being cancelled by the Director/Tutor, Parents/Guardians will be notified either by email or text.
  17. Dates and times for the following term will be made known in writing at the end of each term and will also appear on the PFL website.
  18. The signed application represents Parents’/Guardians’ consent to PFL, its staff and/or agents taking photographs, video footage and digital recordings or any other visual or audio recordings of all Students during lessons.
  19. Parents/Guardians consent to PFL using photographs, video footage and digital recordings or any other visual or audio recordings of all Students in any medium, including the website, our social media and for marketing. Parents/Guardians must otherwise request, complete and return a Use of Images Refusal form.
  20. All Students should wear clothing appropriate for movement, ensuring use of either jazz shoes or trainers, that laces are done up and that trousers are not too long. PFL reserves the right to implement a compulsory uniform in the future.
  21. PFL reserves the right to make changes to the timetable and to the teaching staff.
  22. PFL reserves the right to exclude Students from lessons at its discretion. Please read our Behaviour Policy.
  23. Students participate at their own risk and Parents/Guardians/Students are obliged to inform PFL and its staff of any existing injuries or medical condition. Any changes to such information must be notified to PFL immediately in writing.
  24. Any medication brought to PFL lessons must be made known to PFL/the Student’s Tutor in advance of the lesson. It must be clearly labelled and the Student should, unless PFL has agreed in writing otherwise, be able to administer it themselves.
  25. If a Student is unwell or has an accident requiring emergency treatment, the Parent/Guardian will be contacted via the emergency contact details they have provided on the enrolment form. This number must always be contactable whilst the Student is attending the PFL lesson. Parents/Guardians are solely responsible for ensuring that the emergency contact details on PFL’s records are up to date.
  26. All Parents/Guardians must keep PFL up to date with any changes to personal details, especially emergency contact and medical details.
  27. Parents/Guardians must advise PFL in good time if someone else will be collecting a Student.
  28. Students are obliged to take care of their own belongings. PFL can accept no liability for lost or damaged belongings.
  29. The liability of PFL and that of its staff is restricted to lesson time only and then only to gross negligence.
  30. It is at the Director/Tutor’s discretion to who is entered for their LAMDA / Trinity / RSL examinations.
  31. Parents/Guardians are responsible for the payment of all LAMDA / Trinity / RSL examinations.
  32. PFL owns all the rights, title and interest in and to its websites and social media, including software, text and media and its trade marks, logos and brand elements. Nothing within these Terms & Conditions affects or licences the ownership of these rights. Any intellectual property created during any course of lessons or Holiday Workshop is owned by PFL.
  33. These Terms & Conditions apply to all PFL lessons, Holiday Workshops, and any additional products and/or services offered by PFL.
